Fernando participating in 2010 Taste of Tennis Australia

Fernando will be one of the players participating in the NAB Taste of Tennis Presented by Pandora next month just before the Australian Open kicks off. Fernando joins other players like Pat Cash, Andy Roddick, Sam Querrey, Nicolas Kiefer, Vera Zvonareva, Aleksandra Wozniak, Jarmila Groth and more. The event features some of Melbourne’s top chefs who will pair up with the players to prepare dinner for guests. In addition to amazing food and signature cocktails, this 3-hour party will feature a variety of interactive stations, full open bar, great music, and a silent auction that benefits the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Damn it! Why don’t I live closer to Melbourne?! Can’t justify the cost of another return flight when already booked for AO a week later :C
With restaurant-owners as parents, surely he’d have some latent talent in the kitchen?!

BTW – great article on Fernando’s rise in 2009 at http://bleacherreport.com/articles/314881-how-they-fared-in-2009-verdasco-rises-to-number-nine (hope you don’t mind me posting). Hopefully he’s going into 2010 more confident than ever about his tennis. I think we’ll see great stuff from him this year!
